Ruthie Little, 81, passed away February 20, 2026 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis. Born October 10, 1944 in Rolla, MO, she was the daughter of Theodore "Teddy" Olen and Wyona (Kerley) Glenn.
After graduating from East Alton-Wood River High School in 1962, she married Richard Robert Little in September of 1962. He died January 28, 2023.
Ruthie attended Lewis and Clark Community College earning an Associate Degree in Automotive Technology in 1984. She had received a LCCC Achievement Award in March of 1982 in Auto/Diesel Technology with a 3.9/4.0 GPA. She earned Certificates of Proficiencies between 1983 -1989 from the General Motors Training Center in St. Louis. She became an Adjunct Automotive Instructor at LCCC between 1983-1986 and served as a member of the Auto Advisory Board for 23 years. She was honored by the Illinois Board of Education in 1990 for her work in Continuing Education and was a dedicated promoter of Automotive Education classes through the 1990's and finished at Edwardsville High School in 2005. Ruthie had been employed for many years as service advisor at Lloyd Sunderland Chevrolet-Oldsmobile Motor Company and retired as the Service Manager in 2005 at Bruckert Chevrolet.
She is survived by her daughters, Alicia Gross of Wood River, Robbi Little of East Alton; three grandchildren, Cara (James) Pruitt, Tara (Michael) Hall, Reese Meier; six great grandchildren, Jaelynn Pruitt, Jocelynn Pruitt, James Pruitt Jr., Chloe Pruitt, Quinn Hall, and M.J. Hall.
A private burial will be held in her beloved Ozarks at the family plot in Old Masonic/St. James Cemetery in St. James, MO.
