George Walter Lueker, Jr.

George Walter Lueker, Jr., 98, passed away February 21, 2026 at Alton Memorial Hospital.

Born July 18, 1927 in Granite City, he was the son of George Walter, Sr. and Elsie Marie (Hayden) Lueker.

A World War II, U.S. Army veteran, he worked as a crane operator for Laclede Steel for 32 years before retiring.

Surviving are a daughter, Sandra LaMarr of South Roxana; three grandchildren, Ryan LaMarr, James LaMarr, and Katlyn Marie Mills; a brother, Donald Lueker of Otterville; and a sister, Alice Province of Granite City.

He was preceded in death by his parents; granddaughter, Brandi Nicole Hutson; by three brothers, Carl Lueker, Charles Lueker, and Gordon Lueker; and sister, Laura Bopp.

Cremation rites were accorded.

No services have been scheduled at this time.

Interment will be in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.
