Virginia Mae Saylor, 94, passed away 4:21 pm, Friday, January 25, 2019 In Integrity Healthcare of Godfrey.
Born in Alton on November 14, 1924, she was the daughter of Harry and Mae (Lemmon) Naylor.
As a young woman, Virginia worked as a riviter in the San Francisco shipyards and then For McDonell-Douglas Aircraft in St. Louis. She had been a member and active in the Wood River VFW Post 2859 Auxiliary and Alton Moose Auxiliary. She retired after 30 years as a waitress/hostess at Airport Bowl in Bethalto.
Surviving are a son, Ron L. (Beverly) Saylor of Alton; daughter, Becki Lynne (Vicky) Saylor of Alton; grandchildren, Chelsey (Cesear) Rososko, Amber (Bill) Butcher, Brad (Peggy) Saylor; eight great grandchildren; a brother, Melvin "Rick" Naylor of Godfrey; and several nieces and nephews.
Her parents; former husband, Royal "John" Saylor; two children in infancy, Roger and Diane Saylor; brothers, Donald, Harold "Gene", Morris, and Harry "Red" Naylor; and sisters, Ethel Masterson, Helen Oldham, Violet King and Dolores "Duckie" Duncan preceded in death.
Visitation will be from 9 am until time of service at 11 am, Wednesday, January 30 at Marks Mortuary in Wood River. Pastor Tim Naylor will officiate.
Burial will follow in Upper Alton Cemetery.
