Virginia L. Workman, 89, passed away 9:21 a.m., Monday, April 30, 2018 at her residence.
Born January 1, 1929 in Winchester, she was the daughter of Alva and Julia (Robinson) Herrin.
She had been a union presser for Temple Cleaners before retiring.
On March 7, 1945 in Winchester, she married Jesse J. Workman. He died December 11, 2006.
Surviving are two sons, Jesse Workman, Wayne (Jan) Workman all of Pekin; two daughters, Brenda Collman of Wood River, Alice (Robert) Braden of Rosewood Heights; many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; five brothers, Nelson Herrin and Al Herrin both of Wood River, Stanley Herrin and Charles Herrin both in Texas; Larry Herrin in Granite City; and 10 sisters, Eva Rodems of Jacksonville, Juanita Kelley and Shirley Reed both of East Alton, Betty Carlisle of Bethalto, Norma McGee and Debbie Herrin both of Godfrey, Karen Valadarrres of Wood River, Evelyn Artez and Kathleen Smith both of Granite City, Sandra Carr of St. Charles, MO.
Her parents; husband; son, Warren Workman; daughter, Linda Randleman; two grandchildren; step-mother, Evelyn Herrin; seven brothers, Donald, Leland, Ray, John, James A., Robert and James R. Herrin; and two sisters, Irma Hawks and Velma Herrin preceded in death.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until time of Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m., Friday, May 4 at Holy Angels Parish Church in Wood River. Father Donald Wolford will officiate.
Burial will follow at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.
