Roquel Kay Brown, 29, passed away 7:20 am, Friday, January 15, 2021.
Born March 20, 1991 in Alton, she was the daughter of Darrel Shimchick, Sr. of South Roxana and Traci (Estes) Frasier of Roxana.
She had been an attendant for Hollywood Tan.
Roquel was a beautiful soul inside and out. Her smile could and did light up a room when she walked in. She loved her family and friends, but her greatest love and joy was her daughter, Leela. Although her presence can no longer grace us here, she will be remembered with overwhelming love, always to remain in our hearts.
Surviving in addition to her father and mother are her step-father, Robert "Bam" Frasier of Roxana; daughter, Leela Costin of Bethalto; grandmother, Carolyn Estes; brother, Dustan Brown of Roxana; half-brothers, James Shinchick and Darrel Shimchick, Jr. both of South Roxana;sister, Carlee Drew of Rosewood Heights; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her best friend most of all and long time fishing buddy, her grandpa, Jerry Estes and her uncle, Pat Tierney.
Visitation will be held from 10 am until time of service at 12 pm, Tuesday, January 19 at Godfrey Church of Christ, 6412 Humbert Rd, Godfrey, IL 62035.
Memorials are suggested to Leela Costin Education Fund established at Regions Bank.
Marks Mortuary in Wood River have been entrusted with arrangements.
