Richard K. Moore, 62. passed away October 22, 2018 with his family by his side.
Born on July 24. 1957, he was the son of Richard Eugene and Janice Lee Moore.
After graduation from East Alton-Wood River Community High School in 1975, he had an intriguing career spanning many different trades including: The Illinois Railroad, The United States Air Force, Granite City Steel, Lanter Trucking, Hogan Trucking, National Maintenance and Repair, The City of Chesterfield and The United States Postal Service.
He was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force, having served his country for eight years. He was an avid fisherman, a sailing enthusiast, a book lover, and steadfast in his love for family and his own self-determination.
Richard was a loving father and grandfather, who is survived by five children; five grandchildren; and many other people close to him.
A graveside service will be held at 11 am, Saturday, November 17 in Wanda Cemetery in South Roxana.
Memorials may be made to www.RockingTheBoat.org, an organization which teaches children to sail and promotes the joy of working and living on the water.
He will be greatly missed.
