Donald D. Bagby, 93, passed away 2:48 am, Sunday, November 29, 2020 at Evelyn's House in Creve Coeur.

Born September 19, 1927 in Martinsburg, IL, he was the son of William Owen and Eve H. (Barton) Bagby.

A U.S. Navy veteran, he served on the USS Kankakee.  He worked in the shipping department  for Owens-IL Glass for 41 years before retiring in 1985.  He then worked as a driver for Smit's Flowers in Wood River.

He was a member of East Alton American Legion Post 794 and Wood River Masonic Lodge #1062.

Don married Betty Lee Downey on June 21, 1949 in East Alton.  She died May 7, 2014.

Surviving are a sister, Virginia (Ed) Heeren of Mission Viejo, CA; and much loved nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; son, William "Buster" Bagby; and sisters, Dewel Sippel, Wanda Pyle, Doris Harlan and Betty Bagby.

Private services will be conducted with burial in Upper Alton Cemetery.
