David Scott Ufert, 44, died unexpectedly at 12:04 am, Monday, May 13, 2109 with his family by his side.
Born in Alton on November 6, 1974, David was a chemical operator for Eastman Chemical. He coached numerous ball teams between 1994 to 2015. He touched many lives through his passion and generations of coaching; especially his son, Randy.
He leaves behind his wife, Stephanie; son, Randy -22; daughter, Sidney - 11; his mother and father, Ella and Don Walker; two brothers, Troy and Anthony; father and mother-in-law, Don and Cathy Nevels; brother-in-law, Shawn Nevels; niece, Dylan Nevels; aunts Karen Allen and Nancy Ufert-Fairless; step-mother, Gale Ufert; and many cousins.
He was preceded in death by his Father, Fred Ufert, III. and grandparents, Fred and Josephine Ufert and Jack and Dorthy Holman.
Visitation will be from 3-8 pm, Thursday at Marks Mortuary in Wood River where services will be conducted at 10 am Friday. Father Mike Lydon will officiate.
Burial will follow in Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.
